It is no secret that my guys are avid duck hunters especially the Mr. November through January, he literally thinks of nothing but ducks. I used to get SO mad when he would want to go hunting EVERY weekend for two months out of the year. My feelings would be so hurt that he would rather be doing something so silly than spending time with me... His sweet little wife. He would tell me that I need to "find a hobby" because I would sit at home so lonely and sad from the minute he walked out the door till the minute he walked back in.
I've been called "needy" by friends, but seriously, I am not a "needy" person. Just "needy" for my husband. I don't function well without him. PERIOD! We do everything together from grocery shopping, to cooking, to laundry. You name it, we do it together (well, except hunting). That's just how we roll.
So, back to my story…It took me years to "find a hobby", but I have found one or two or six, and he is as happy as a clam. I don't mind him being gone on Saturdays to hunt, and he is more in love with me now than he was 8 + years ago. I am sure of that. Ha
Sewing, painting, crafting, & creating are some of my favorite hobbies now. I spend many Saturdays (and weeknights) at home doing one or more of these things, and I am just fine being alone to do my "
thang". ABS is home with me some of the time, and she has really gotten into crafting too. I love our little mother-daughter time together! Sweet memories!!!
I made these cute frames this past weekend. I originally saw this project over at
Suz Speaks. Suzanne is a very good (blog turned real life) friend of mine and she saw the idea from
Jen at Tatertots & Jello. I was inspired and knew that project was going on the "craft to-do" list. The only holiday I really go
all out for is Christmas, but I do enjoy semi-decorating for the "little" holidays as well. I wanted to add a
"splash of L
♥VE" to our home this month for Valentines Day, and this project was perfect. Easy, fun, cute, & CHEAP! Dollar Tree frames, a few sheets of scrapbook paper, & Dollar Tree rock marbles.
Jen gives a great tutorial
here. I didn't have any E600 glue so I just used my hot glue gun and that worked well for me!

I also recently made this. I can not even begin to tell you how many frames I have thrown away over the years because of broken glass or just old and dingy looking. Not anymore!!!! Spray paint is my
BFF! It is amazing what a little paint will do for you! I forgot to get a before picture, but this frame didn't have glass (I'm sure a kid broke it) and it was a golden-yuck color. Well I took a can of white spray paint and gave the frame a misting. I liked the look I was getting with misting it so I stopped there. I then cut a piece of burlap (a favorite at my house) and painted our name on it using a stencil. Once everything was dry, I put it all together and viola….my new piece. I LOVE it!

And yes, another chalkboard tray. I had another great tray in need of a transformation that my
SIL gave me so I whipped this one up the other day too! I love it.

And...Did any of you notice my GREEN walls? Yes, I painted my kitchen green Saturday. Mr. Smith came home from hunting to quite a surprise. :o) I had the whole kitchen painted (except for the trimming out). That was the job I was leaving for him!!! HA! It looks like a whole new kitchen! We love it! This is the bakers rack my MIL gave me a while back. Right now I just have some "stuff" thrown on it. I am having a hard time deciding how to "decorate" it. I am a
matchy-
matchy person, so I feel like everything I put on it should flow and coordinate.
HMMM....what to do? Any suggestions? I do know that I want to sit my lamp on something to give the bottom shelf some
height.

I have more projects in the making. Will be back soon with more to share! Happy hump day!
