I love it when I find a new, easy, yummy recipe! My mom made these awesome Apple Dumplings for us this weekend and I just had to share!!!! They are so easy to prepare and will make a great dessert or breakfast food. I promise you that they will be a hit no matter what time of day you eat them :o)
Sorry, my picture isn't the best, but you get the point....
Apple Dumplings
2 packages of Crescent Rolls (do not let them get room temp-need to be cold and firm)
1-1/4 cup of sugar
2 Granny Smith apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1-1/2 sticks of butter
1 cup of Mt. Dew
Preheat oven to 350
Peel and slice apples into 8 slices each (we use an apple wedge).
Wrap each slice in a crescent roll triangle and place in baking pan.
Combine butter, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla in a saucepan and cook on medium low, stirring until it becomes a gravy-like consistency.
Pour the mixture over the wrapped apples then pour the Mt. Dew over that.
Bake for 30 minutes then place a piece of aluminum foil loosely over the pan and bake for 15 more minutes.
ENJOY!!!!
For additional satisfaction, top with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and dig in! :o)
